Sweet delicious Cilantro, oh how delicious you are! This post is about Cilantro Detox.

Cilantro Detox

There is some nasty stuff in the food that we eat; some of those nasty things are heavy metals such as mercury, arsenic and lead. How do I know? Look around, obesity surrounds us, so does processed foods. Processed foods are any type of food that comes in a package ready to eat. Some processed foods are okay to eat/drink. Some absolutely suck. So unless you live totally “off the grid” and harvest your own water and food, here is how to get rid of some of the nasty stuff from processed foods hanging around in your body.

There is no effective way to avoid processed foods. Sure you buy some $10 a pound “free range” chicken from your local hippy farmer’s market, or only drink North Fijian Ultra-Pure 1X Deep Well Water whose glass has been cultivated from untouched sand and been treated with a very light mist of argon gas for $48 a bottle. But guess what? Unless you’re the boy in a plastic bubble, the air that you breath still has jet fuel and exhaust fumes in it from the all the airplanes that fly overhead…check and mate!

In order to rid your body of these heavy metals, there are a few things can do to expedite this process: first is exercise, but you already knew that; the second way is to eat foods that can also speed up this process. Enter Cilantro.

The way to cleanse your body of heavy metals is called Chelation. The normal and boring way to think of chelation is to “administer a dimercaptosuccinic acid extracting agent to the infected client therefore…” The fun and exciting way to think of Chelation is: Chelation goes in with some big ass shotguns, a few grenades and “smokes out” those evil heavy metals from their dark cave doing bad stuff. There are a few ways of doing this; most require big expensive medical equipment and a “doctor” watching over the whole process. But as Ben Franklin once said “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Of the few natural chelations available, cilantro is one of them.

From the Coriandrum Sativum tribe – the coriander’s leaves produce cilantro, which does a great job at busting up and kicking heavy metals such as mercury right in the ding-ding. The problem with busting out the heavy artillery like cilantro is, much like writing this website and having great ideas, without a cleanup crew (people who edit, clean up blood, etc.,), you are just left with a horrible mess. And cilantro does have a cleanup crew know as Chlorella. But we’ll talk about that tomorrow.

Hurray for cilantro!

This concludes this post on Cilantro Detox.
