Weaverville California July 3rd 2011 Fireworks

There is basically nothing to do in Weaverville, California; however, for three days out of the year, there is stuff to do in Weaverville and those days are the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July.

Julie is from Weaverville and she has been bugging me to go up to her hometown forever. Usually my reply was something to the effect of “No, black people die up there” or “Why would in the world would I go to a Ku Klux Klan meeting?” But for some unbeknownst reason, I finally decided to go. Probably because if I did have a fighting chance to actually come back home alive, it would have to be during their annual 4th of July festivities.

For those who are wondering, Weaverville is about 3.5 hours North-West of Sacramento, California, located in the Trinity Alps, with a population of 3500. Up there in the gorgeous mountains there is a big-ass saw mill; Tops Supermarket; some REAL hippies, not the pseudo-yuppie hippies we have here in Sacramento or San Francisco; some hardworking people; some regular people; tourists; drunks; stoners; smashing good hiking and lots of weed and meth (both of which I did not personally see).

Here is a Website and a Wiki about Weaverville.

Instead of lighting off fireworks on the 4th of July this year, Weaverville’s famous Fireworks display was done on the 3rd of July. Here is what happened during the grand finale of the July 3, 2011 Fireworks in Weaverville, California.

Weaverville IS a cool place, however I am not in the market for a mortgage up there just yet 😛

This concludes my post on Weaverville California July 3rd 2011 Fireworks.
